Expanded Membership Structure of FHKPUAA
|
|
|
On 24 October, the Federation of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University Alumni Associations (FHKPUAA) held an Extraordinary General Meeting to adopt amendments to its Articles of Association, welcoming non-local PolyU alumni associations as “Network Members” and formally including PolyU graduates as “Individual Members” and current students as “Student Members”.

A special visit to CLP Pulse was exclusively arranged for members of the Outstanding PolyU Alumni Association (OPAA) on 7 November, offering them a unique opportunity to explore Hong Kong’s electrical history and its evolution towards modern energy innovation. They also enjoyed privileged access to areas not open to the general public!

Celebrating 60 Years: Senior Building Alumni Reunion at PolyU
|
|
|
Can you imagine a friendship that has lasted six decades? On 31 October, a group of senior Building alumni from the Class of 1968 returned to their alma mater for a heartfelt reunion! They had a guided tour and attended the BREDAA Homecoming Gala, rekindling fond memories while catching up on the University’s developments.

ISE 65th & IGDS 35th Anniversary Celebration Dinner
|

|
As this year marks the 65th Anniversary of the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISE) and the 35th Anniversary of the Integrated Graduate Development Scheme (IGDS), a Gala Dinner was held at Hotel ICON on 1 November. PolyU MILES Alumni Association (MILESAA) and The University of Warwick and The Hong Kong Polytechnic University Manufacturing Alumni Association (IGDSAA) also jointly organised this spectacular event!

The Hong Kong Polytechnic University Department of Chinese Culture Alumni Association (POLYUCCAA) held its “Golden Autumn Dinner” at Ju Yin House on campus on 25 October, where members mingled and celebrated the joy of togetherness in this season of crisp air and camaraderie.

SHTMAA Annual Dinner 2025: “Around the World”

On 14 November, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University School of Hotel & Tourism Management Alumni Association (SHTMAA) hosted its annual dinner at the Happy Valley Racecourse. Alumni dressed in attire representing their hometown cultures and enjoyed an evening filled with global flavours, music, and fun!

Graduates from the Department of Applied Mathematics (AMA) came together on 16 November to uncover the hidden treasures of Hong Kong Island East! They explored heritage sites, natural attractions, exhibitions, places of spiritual inspiration, and more, making it a fulfilling Sunday spent with their pals.

Visit From Overseas Alumni Leader

Mr Jeffery Tse, JP, President of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (Australia) Association, visited his alma mater on 23 October. Travelling from Australia, he not only toured the campus but also met with President Prof. Teng, sharing insights that demonstrated his lasting connection to the University.

Recent Highlights From Alumni Interest Clubs

From late October to mid-November, members of the Alumni Interest Clubs took part in a series of engaging activities – from a cinematic experience with a film appreciation sharing session, to a sensory tea workshop where alumni speakers talked about the art of tea, and a 10K night run graced by the presence of President Prof. Teng!

In recent instalments of our “Proud PolyYOU” social media series, inspirational quotes took the spotlight: Prof. Kelvin Leong shared his views on AI and data science; Mr Anthony Wong spoke about his passion for Chinese history; Prof. Mark Narty reflected on his scholarly journey; and Prof. Amy Fu highlighted her physiotherapy support for athletes at the 15th National Games!
