New Year Lunch Gathering of Senior Alumni

More than 20 senior alumni, most of whom graduated between the 1950s and 1970s, came together on 2 March for a heartwarming reunion. We were especially honoured to receive welcoming remarks from Mr Wing Chow, a 98-year-old Mechanical Engineering graduate, whose heartfelt wishes truly captured the strong bonds of the PolyU family.

The Outstanding PolyU Alumni Award 2026 has kicked off! Departments, schools, and faculties will be sharing details about the nomination process. We look forward to recognising our exceptional graduates!

Through our “Proud PolyYOU” social media series, alumni continue to spark ideas: Sr Paul Tsui reflects on how PolyU shaped his family life and career path; Ir Jason Cheung shares his insights on building a future in engineering; and Ms Zelia Wong speaks about bringing people together through the power of language. Let’s give them a like!

We honour the memory of Dr Stephen Au Ling-ming, a distinguished member of the PolyU alumni community who recently passed away. A graduate of the AP and DIREC programmes, he received the Outstanding PolyU Alumni Award in 2017.

As Founder and Managing Director of MTECH Engineering Company Limited, Dr Au built a respected career in engineering and construction, exemplifying PolyU’s innovative and practical spirit. He was also a devoted supporter of his alma mater, establishing technology centres, serving on the Departmental Advisory Committee, mentoring students, and contributing in many other meaningful ways.

Dr Au will be remembered not only for his professional achievements, but also for his kindness, humility, and steadfast dedication to nurturing future generations.
